Tapedrive plus tapesvm, on your machines

Local Tapedrive is the whole system on hardware you control. It is the same software that runs Tapenet, so you are running a private network of your own. Tapedrive stores and serves your data. Instead of Solana, it uses tapesvm, a high-performance drop-in replacement. It runs on one machine, with Tapedrive and tapesvm side by side, or across several. There is no minimum hardware requirement. Your data stays on your machines, so this is the path for private data.

A private network is different from a node on the public network

Both run on hardware you control. They differ in what they store, what they cost, and what they need. If you want to contribute storage to the public network, follow the storage node guide.

Use Tapenet in the meantime

Your tools work today against Tapenet. Set up a wallet and funding, then follow the quickstart. Tapenet data is public and the network may be reset, so keep private or irreplaceable data off it for now.
